Mr. Murray received his B.A. in political science from UNC Charlotte in 1989 and his J.D. from UNC Chapel Hill in 1992. After serving as an Assistant District Attorney from 1992-1995, Mr. Murray entered private practice, eventually becoming managing partner of Goodman, Carr, Laughrun, Levine, Murray & Green, PA. Mr. Murray remained in private practice until his swearing in as District Attorney for the 26th Judicial District of North Carolina in January 2011. In addition to his legal career, Mr. Murray has served for more than 30 years as a member of the United States Coast Guard Active and Reserve forces, including six years of active duty, and currently holds the rank of Commander.
