Pensions of public employees are threatening the finances of state and municipal governments throughout the country. Public employees have been promised generous pensions and early retirements, but many cities and states have failed to set aside sufficient funds to pay for these promises. The bankruptcies of Detroit, Stockton and San Bernardino are just the beginning of a painful re-ordering of these obligations. Professor Eastman will discuss the current state of the crisis and some possible solutions.

Tickets are free for current members of the Federalist Society and for students, $15 for non-members, payable at the registration link at sffederalistpensioncrisis2013.eventbrite.com.

Wine and light snacks will be served. 1.0 hour of MCLE credit is available for this event.
