The Great Constitutional Alcohol Debate: Does the 21st Amendment usurp the Commerce Clause?

Chicago Lawyers Chapter

Please joine the Chicago Lawyers Chapter for a discussion on the Commerce Clause and the 21st Amendment. The Commerce Clause and the 21st Amendment are often on a collision course. The 21st Amendment is the rare constitutional provision which can overpower the Commerce Clause. In 21st Amendment/Commerce Clause litigation, the tide swings back and forth between one amendment holding legal power over the other. Our panel will analysis this great debate from two different perspectives.

Alex Tanford, believes in the Commerce Clause's supremacy over the 21st Amendment. Brannon Denning, on the other side of the debate, believes in the supremacy of the 21st Amendment over the Commerce Clause.
