Taking on Big Tech

For the past two decades, we’ve witnessed the growth of technology and social media companies such as Amazon, Google/YouTube, Apple, Facebook/Meta, and Twitter among them. In recent years, there has been a rising bipartisan backlash against the power of these companies and their perceived influence over Americans’ daily lives. Debate continues as to what reforms, if any, may be needed to limit the power of these companies. Josh Hammer argues that an all-of-the-above approach to reining in Big Tech is needed, with an emphasis on Section 230 reform, vigorous antitrust enforcement, and common carrier regulation. We will discuss these proposals at our upcoming Silicon Valley Chapter lunch.
