California is in a dire fiscal state. Pension obligations to retired state and local government workers are a significant part of the fiscal nightmare. These obligations grow every year and near-zero interest rates leave pension funds further from being able to fulfill the promises made. Do the California government and taxpayer have the ability to pay for any government in the near future beyond over-generous public pensions? Is there a way out short of state bankruptsy?

Professor John Eastman will explore the problem and outline some possible solutions to this continuing nightmare.
