Evan Sayet on a Unified Theory of Liberalism

Orange County Lawyers Chapter

California has been suffering largely under one party rule for decades, and its policies and laws have reached a nadir of failure. Despite having the 6th largest economy in the world, thanks largely to the fact that 3 out of 4 major technology companies have their headquarters here, California has the highest poverty rate in the country. Quality of life surveys consistently rate California low for housing, crime and K-12 educational attainment.

In October, Governor Jerry Brown signed “Sanctuary State” legislation, placing sharp limits on how local law enforcement and governments can comply with federal immigration statutes, and also imposing criminal sanctions on private employers for such cooperation with federal authorities, and in fact, imposing a requirement to warn employees of known imminent federal immigration enforcement activities. Such is the height of absurdity reached by the policies imposed on the State of California by its powers that be. In March, the U.S. Department of Justice filed suit against the state with regard to the Sanctuary State statutes.

We are very pleased to announce that Evan Sayet, a nationally known writer, political commentator and comedian, will be joining us to discuss his “Unified Theory of Liberalism” as applied to California, its laws and policies. Evan’s writing has been published in Townhall, Brietbart, American Thinker, Front Page and Human Events, where he was a bi-weekly columnist. He has appeared numerous times on CBS, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, BBC and other national and international networks to discuss the issues of the day. Evan worked as a speechwriter for the Trump campaign, and as a policy advisor for Ted Cruz’ presidential and Senate campaigns. He has been a panelist and speaker at many Heritage Foundation and CPAC events. Many of his writings and speeches are among the most-read and shared items for their respective publishers.
