Matthew J. Eggers

Senior Director, National Security and Emergency Preparedness, U.S. Chamber Of Commerce

Matthew Eggers is a senior director in the National Security and Emergency Preparedness Department at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He leads the Chamber's Cybersecurity Working Group, which focuses on advocating the Chamber's cyber policies before Congress and the administration. In 2010, Mr. Eggers wrote Internet Security Essentials for Business, a guidebook to help small and medium businesses adopt fundamental cybersecurity practices. In 2009, he organized a series of meetings across the country in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to increase businesses' awareness of cybersecurity from an enterprise risk management standpoint. Before joining the Chamber in 2007, Mr. Eggers was director of public policy at B&D Consulting, and he worked on Capitol Hill for two members of Congress. Mr. Eggers was recently selected to participate in the Naval Postgraduate School's Homeland Security Executive Leaders Program.
