Salazar v. Buono - Post-Decision SCOTUScast

On April 28, 2010, the Supreme Court announced its decision in Salazar v. Buono. The questions in this case were 1) whether Buono had Article III standing to bring an Establishment Clause suit challenging the display of a religious symbol on government land and 2) whether an Act of Congress that transferred ownership of government land (on which the religious symbol resided) to a private entity was a permissible remedy if an Establishment Clause violation existed.
In a series of opinions, none of which was joined by a majority of the Court, the Court ruled that Buono had standing to bring the suit, but that the case should be remanded to the Court of Appeals for further proceedings.
