On December 3, 2012, the Supreme Court heard oral argument in Genesis HealthCare Corp v. Symczyk.  This case concerns the scope of the federal courts’ power to adjudicate cases.  The question is whether a case becomes moot, and must therefore be dismissed, when a lone plaintiff receives an offer from all defendants to satisfy her claims in full.
