John J. Curry

Biography

Since leaving the U.S. Department of Justice in 1986, John J. Curry, Jr. has earned a reputation as a successful business and commercial litigator. Parlaying his government trial experience into an extensive practice in civil trial and appellate practice in both state and federal courts, Mr. Curry has achieved outstanding successes in numerous jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and appeals.

As a skilled litigator, Mr. Curry represents a broad range of business enterprises, including banks and financial institutions, national franchisors and franchisees, real estate developers and managers, industrial manufacturers, retailers and sales companies, moving and storage companies, professional service providers, among others.

In representing the interests of both publicly traded and privately held businesses in complex commercial litigation, Mr. Curry has significant expertise in contract disputes, banking law, UCC matters, fraud and business torts, officer, director, and shareholder liability, partnership disputes, corporate governance and dissolution, employer/employee disputes, employment discrimination, real estate and property rights, eminent domain, intellectual property, injunctions, and temporary restraining orders.

Beyond his usual areas of practice, Mr. Curry has represented individuals on a select basis in a wide variety of issues, including product liability, trust, estate, and probate disputes, regulatory enforcement and defense, libel and slander. In addition to his extensive litigation experience, Mr. Curry engages in alternative dispute resolution and negotiates advantageous settlements.
