Tavern Debate | Resolved: That the United States is in a War and Losing Badly

Chicago Lawyers Chapter

Announcing the Return of the Tavern Debates, an American tradition since taverns have existed!

Most people don’t realize they’re in a war until it is already underway, and the same is true in the United States today. Culturally, economically, militarily, and politically, the people of the United States are at war with themselves and others around the world, and losing badly.

On the cultural front, radical forces both Left and Right tear down the family, religion, education, and respect for the rule of law. Economically, the U.S. has abandoned energy self-sufficiency and any pretense of fiscal responsibility, consigning future generations to higher energy costs and unfathomable national debt. Militarily, the mismanaged withdrawal from Afghanistan and apparent ambivalence towards Ukraine and Israel have left allies confused and adversaries emboldened. Politically, the nation has rarely been more divided, heading toward a presidential election between two polarizing and controversial candidates.

Nonsense! says the opposition. The United States of America is the most resilient nation on earth and there is no challenge it cannot meet. What may appear cataclysmic today represents merely bumps in the road.

What say you? Come join the fun, hoist an adult beverage, and make your voice heard on Thursday, March 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Heartland Institute, 3939 North Wilke Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

This is an audience participation event.
