While serving under Attorney General Ashcroft as Deputy Associate Attorney General, Mike Wiggins was charged with overseeing all civil terrorism litigation. Mr. Wiggins will discuss how the courts addressed those claims, how the cases were coordinated by the Justice Department, and the fallout from the Supreme Court decisions on those cases.

Prior to his appointment to the Office of the Associate Attorney General, Mr. Wiggins served as Acting Assistant Attorney General and Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department. In 2005, Mr. Wiggins was named Principal Deputy General Counsel of the Office of Homeland Security. Before joining the Justice Department, Mr. Wiggins practiced law with Kilpatrick Stockton in Atlanta. He graduated first in his class from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor for the Georgia Law Review. Following graduation, he clerked for Judge J.L. Edmonson, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
