Nick Brod

Assistant Solicitor General, North Carolina Department of Justice

Nick serves as Assistant Solicitor General in the North Carolina Department of Justice, where he focuses on litigation in federal and state appellate courts.  Before joining the Solicitor General’s office, Nick was a senior associate at Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C.  

Nick earned a J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Duke Law, where he was Executive Editor of the Duke Law Journal, executive board member of the Moot Court Board, and a Mordecai Scholar.  After law school, Nick clerked for Judge Gerald Tjoflat of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and Judge Lee Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Nick is a Lecturing Fellow at Duke Law School teaching Appellate Practice, the Law School’s upper-level seminar on appellate litigation.
