Gerard N. Magliocca joined the faculty following two years as an associate with Covington & Burling and one year as a clerk for Judge Guido Calabresi on the Second Circuit. He received the Best New Professor Award from the student body in 2004 and the Black Cane (Most Outstanding Professor) Award in 2006. In 2007, his book on Andrew Jackson was the subject of an hour-long program on C-Span's "Book TV." In the Fall of 2008, Professor Magliocca held the Fulbright-Dow Distinguished Research Chair of the Roosevelt Study Center in Middelburg, The Netherlands. He is also a regular blogger on Concurring Opinions and Balkinization.
