David R. Dorey is Senior Litigation Counsel at the Fairness Center, representing clients in state and federal courts and before administrative boards. Prior to joining the Fairness Center, Dave practiced law and held senior executive positions in the federal government, including at the United States Department of Labor and the United States Department of Homeland Security.  Prior to his government service, Dave was a litigation associate at a large international law firm in Washington, D.C., where he represented clients in federal district and appellate courts, state trial and appellate courts, and before federal agencies.  Dave has significant experience with federal class action litigation including acting as separate settlement counsel.

Dave received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, graduating cum laude. At Penn Law, he was a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review Board and the president of the Custody and Support Assistance Clinic. As an undergraduate, Dave graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dave is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of California.  He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the United States Courts of Appeals for Fourth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits; and the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Northern District of California.  He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife.
