Over the last dozen years, State Attorneys General -- from Mike Moore taking on Big Tobacco and Eliot Spitzer battling Wall Street, to Jim Hood targeting the Insurance Industry –- have pursued novel and aggressive lawsuits against business and industry sectors and in so doing have often acted in concert with trial lawyers and special interest groups. The Federalist Society of Mississippi will explore in this luncheon debate whether such litigation ultimately serves the public interest and involves the requisite levels of ethics and fairness.
