The search of Rep. Jefferson's Capitol Hill office, in the minds of some, raises important legal and policy questions. Indeed, Congressional leadership has expressed misgivings about the search and the manner in which it was conducted. Conversely, the FBI and the Department of Justice assert they executed a proper search warrant in an important, ongoing criminal investigation after they had unsuccessfully attempted to collect the information via subpoena. What, if any, are the legal and policy questions implicated by the search? Professors John Baker and Robert Turner will debate their opposing views on the subject.
