Stephen K. Halpert, Professor of Law, received an A.B. from Harvard College in 1973 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1978. He also was a Harvard Scholar at Emmanuel College of Cambridge University in 1973 and 1974. Before joining the Law School faculty in 1981, Professor Halpert was in private practice with the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. While on leave from the Law School during 1983-84, he served as legal counsel and senior staff economist to the President's Council of Economic Advisors. Professor Halpert has taught business associations, business transactions, securities regulation, bankruptcy, creditors' rights and remedies, and insurance. He also directs the Law School's transactional skills program.
