Ann McColl is an attorney and state constitutional scholar, who has worked in the field of education law and policy since graduating from the UNC Law School in 1991. Her positions have included legislative director for the State Board of Education, general counsel for the North Carolina Association of School Administrators and the North Carolina School Superintendents Association, general counsel for the North Carolina Association of Educators, and legal counsel and director of policy for the North Carolina School Boards Association. McColl co-founded The Innovation Project. She also has served as associate professor of educational leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte College of Education, visiting faculty at the School of Government, and adjunct faculty for the UNC School of Education and UNC School of Law.
