Will Levi is a partner in Sidley’s office in Washington, D.C. and represents clients in a broad range of complex civil litigation, government enforcement actions, regulatory disputes, and appellate matters. Having served in senior roles in all three branches of government, Will has deep and diverse experience navigating high-profile litigation, government enforcement matters, congressional investigations and hearings, and managing crisis situations.

A former senior official at the U.S. Department of Justice, Will most recently served as Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to the Attorney General. In that role, Will acted as the principal counselor to the Attorney General, and had broad responsibility for all aspects of the Department’s work, including a wide range of civil litigation, criminal investigations and prosecutions, and national security matters. Will was awarded the Department of Justice’s highest honor, the Edmund J. Randolph Award, in recognition of outstanding service to the Department.

He previously served as Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights, which oversees the federal antitrust enforcement agencies and reviews major proposed mergers affecting the national economy, and as Chief Counsel to Senator Mike Lee. He is also a former law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit Judge Anthony J. Scirica.

Before his latest service in the federal government, Will practiced at Sidley and at an appellate boutique in Washington, D.C., where he focused on appeals and government-facing litigation. He represented clients at each level of the federal courts, as well as in federal agencies and state courts, and handled a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including administrative law, commercial litigation, constitutional law, and securities cases, as well as government investigations.

Will is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Disputes, White Collar: Government Litigation and Investigations, and Supreme Court and Appellate practice groups.
