Hon. Erven T. Nelson

Assemblyman, Nevada State Assembly

Erven T. Nelson represents Assembly District 5 in the Nevada Assembly. Previously, he was a partner at Durham, Jones & Pinegar where he specialized in real estate and business law. Erv has deep roots in this community, moving to Las Vegas as a child. As a boy and teenager he was involved in little league, Boy Scouts, church activities, water sports at Lake Mead and skiing at Lee Canyon.

After graduating from Clark High School, Erv served a two-year mission for his church in Tokyo, Japan. When he returned from japan, Erv entered BYU where he met and married his wife, Lisa. Erv went on to study law at BYU graduating with honors in 1983. The Nelsons returned to Las Vegas in 1987 moving to the Lakes area where they continue to raise thier 7 children. Erv has been active in the community in many volunteer and leadership positions.
