The American History & Tradition Project

Join us in our celebration of American Exceptionalism

In 2026, the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. But as that milestone nears, America’s founding ideals are increasingly under attack—from the classroom to the courtroom.

Efforts like the 1619 Project aim to rewrite our past and redefine our future. They reject American exceptionalism and cast the Founding as a shameful moment, not a shining one. At the same time, constitutional ignorance is on the rise, and basic civic knowledge is in free fall.

The Federalist Society’s response: the American History & Tradition Project—a multiyear, nationwide campaign to celebrate our founding principles, defend the Constitution, and restore serious public engagement with America’s history and civic identity.

The first major effort of this campaign will be a year-long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and America's semiquincentennial. Starting in July 2025 with a major event at the National Archives, we’ll host high-profile gatherings across the country, roll out original content, and expand civic education into classrooms—countering revisionism with clarity, pride, and truth.

This project will remind the country—and especially the rising generations—why our Declaration, our Constitution, our history, and our traditions are worth preserving and celebrating.

Join us in celebrating 250 years of liberty—and in standing up for what makes America exceptional.
