Austin joined the Federalist Society staff in 2015. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he earned his J.D. and B.A. from the Catholic University of America. During law school, Austin was president of Catholic University's Federalist Society Chapter. Austin and his wife, Allison, live with their four children in Maryland.
