Honest Services Cases (Skilling, Black & Weyhrauch) - MP3
Running Time: 00:51:45

Practice Groups PodcastsOn June 24, 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decisions in Skilling v. US, Black v. US, and Weyhrauch v. US.  The Court held that the honest-services fraud statute (18 U.S.C. §1346) which criminalized "a scheme or artifice to deprive another of the intangible right of honest services" is unconstitutionally vague beyond circumstances involving bribery and kickbacks.  In this podcast, the speakers provide analysis of the opinions, background into the honest-services fraud statute, and the potential effects of the decisions.
