From Guantanamo Bay to Thomson, Illinois: A Debate on the Detention and Prosecution of Alleged Terrorists in 2010 and Beyond

Approximately one year after President Barack Obama announced his intention to close the detainee holding facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and in the wake of reports that the federal government intends to move terrorist detainees to a facility just outside Iowa's borders in Thomson, Illinois, and recent decisions to try the "Christmas Day Bomber," Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab, in civilian court, the debate continues about the appropriate way to handle the detention and prosecution of terrorists. Mr. Edney and Ms. Campbell will discuss what has happened and will offer their thoughts on the appropriate course of conduct in the future.
