Texas Tech’s medical school recently agreed to stop using racial and ethnic preferences in its admissions.  This came about because of a complaint against Texas Tech filed in 2004 by my organization, the Center for Equal Opportunity, and the ensuing 15-year investigation by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, headed now under the Trump administration by Ken Marcus.  It’s a significant development because it is more evidence that the current administration has broken with the previous one on the issue of politically correct racial discrimination, and because the more schools that abandon racial preferences in admission, the harder it is as a legal matter for the remaining schools to justify their racial discrimination.  I go into more detail in this post on National Review Online.
