Looking forward to the convention; I always enjoy seeing old friends and being challenged to think about important legal issues of our time. I am humbled to be among such an accomplished group of presenters. As a practicing attorney I've spent much of the last two years on cases where government agencies and prosecutors have tried to use the power of the state to silence conservative and libertarian dissenters in the public debate. Increasingly, it seems, voices from the right are targeted by government campaign finance enforcers—and even by the IRS. Official state action is used to settle political scores. I will share real-world examples, including the ongoing battle in Wisconsin, and the lessons that can be drawn from those fights.
