COMMENDATIONS

To celebrate your bar passage and to thank you for your service as an officer in your law school’s chapter, The Federalist Society will issue a “Commendation” in your honor in celebration of your movement from the Student Division to the Lawyers Division and your entrance into our noble profession.

Each commendation is personalized and will feature your provided name, followed by the honorific “Esq.”, as well as your officer title and law school. Your commendation will be printed on 12 x 18 antiqued parchment in a font comparable to that of the first edition of The Federalist and will feature a two-inch bordeaux Madison-head wax seal in 18th century style.

The background of your commendation is a silhouette of James Madison, hand-drawn by classically-trained artist Michael Curtis, and based on the most accurate portraits of the period. A classical architect, sculptor, painter, and poet, Michael has taught and lectured at universities, colleges, and museums; his pictures and statues are housed in over 300 private and public collections. He has made statues of presidents, generals, Supreme Court Justices, and national heroes; his buildings, houses, monuments, and memorials are found coast-to-coast. Michael is also the editor of “The Beautiful Home” and the National Civic Art Society’s Research Scholar.
